Skoda makes good cars but seem unable to provide anything approaching acceptable service. Received the following update from my dealer today, " I have spoken to Skoda Australia who in turn has been in touch with the factory to find out why your vehicle along with others hasn’t moved from Transport status to on “ a boat”. I have been informed that 13 vehicles (including yours) missed the last boat and is now due to go on the “Tiger” which is due to leave on the 17th April".
WTF, the car was built on the 24/2, is transported to port in Belgium and then misses the boat. I am running out of derogatory adjectives to describe Skoda.
Sorry to hear that.
I'm surprised Skoda also didn't say 'they all do that' or that is within factory specifications.....
MY16 Octavia Scout 132TSI Premium - denim blue metallic, Tech pack, electric seats, panoramic roof, auto boot, roof racks, mud flaps and rubber mats
The dealer hasn't provided an estimated delivery date, not really surprising given that I ordered and paid deposit May 31 2014, they wouldn't want to get my expectations up. We are now thinking it is likely that delivery will be sometime in June. I could of had a house built in the time it has taken to get the car.
Can anyone give an estimate of how long the ships take to get from Belgium to Fremantle, Australia?
That's odd. I put my order in on the 31st of March and est delivery date is 18th September. I guess it was just that busy period before they upped their production.
Vehicle: Octavia RS162 Steel Gray Wagon, Tow Bar, 18" Black Pack & Tech Pack

Signed the paperwork for a new rs hatch. Finance all good and ready to go. Left 3 messages with sales manager to call me (he is also my original sales rep) about the final delivery details of the sale. Nothing. No return calls. Nothing.
I have a feeling someone has offered better money and sold it to them instead. =(

Hi, unless you are the person who changed their order and added the comfort pack, there is something very wrong with your order times there. There are many people from here who ordered well after you and already have their cars so something is up with your order for sure. 6-9mths has been the average, boat miss aside your car should have been in the build queue much earlier.
Wouldn't be better money, it would be that they signed the paperwork then and there.
Offer made at 5pm last Thursday 09 Apr 15. Contract emailed to me within 30 mins. I printed, signed, scanned and emailed back at 10pm that evening. Ever since then....nothing. Maybe ill get my $2k deposit back and just go shopping else where.

Sometimes you get stuck on their days off and if you leave a message for them they won't get back. It is no defence, but sometimes its just that they aren't there (though 6 days since). $2k deposit and paper work, you are locked in they should't sell the car from under you. Make sure you've read the agreement before cancelling it, sometimes there are cancellation fees outside the cooling off time.
Edit: That just triggered a memory for me LOL. I ordered my RS in 2010 and called them 2 weeks later after no contact. They hadn't even ordered the car.
Weird thing is...estimated delivery date on the bottom left of the contract is 20 April 15...in 5 days....lol. I dont see that happening. Although they do have the vrs in their holding yard. Dealer delivery shouldnt take too long. Maybe its the 1.2% finance that has got dealerships flat out....i dunno. I hate calling all the time and being that annoying customer.
Thanks for the sailing schedule for the 'Tiger'. Looks like we might just get the car by the end of May, which will be exactly 12 months since order. If it misses this boat I am going to go postal! .
You could also ask for the actual VIN of the vehicle so you can then use it to track the vehicle via the WWL website's 'track and trace' function. Skoda Australia would have this information if the dealer does not have it.

Ok sounds like just poor salespeople, if they have sent them and you sent them back then they are obliged to sell it to you. I wouldn't think 5 days is hard to deliver a car sitting there already. I had my Skoda turn around in 2.
If things keep to a schedule my car is due to arrive in Melbourne tomorrow. Just wondering, from everyone's experience how long is the wait from dock to dealership?
