I'd wait 6 months until sales start to tank and they start adding options back in at no extra charge to lure buyers.
Only crazy or desperate or financially flush people fall into the trap of wanting to be the first to own a new model when there is limited if any discounting and no freebees.

The New Leon rolled off the line quite some time before the Golf, so its no longer in peak demand. Also a brief look at the UK specs RVC and the ACC cruise don't seem to be options, they seem to be the two bug bears for delays.

At the same time, the VW would probably have more orders waiting than the Skoda so they would get more allocated

Not sure why you are focussed on UK sales? Buy hey, if you think that this is the reason for Skoda sales being knobbled by VW

I was just counterpointing your reason for SEAT not being affected, and I didn't say I went either way. The delays are probably the same for both VW and Skoda at the moment

            Come on Skoda AU!!
            Hurry up!
I want to test drive, then buy one.

Specs on the 2.0TDI, DSG from UK look good with 0-100km/hr 8.6 sec.
Might not have to wait for the vRS.

Big thumbs up for the hatchback
Will save me being consigned to a wagon.

I'm thinking of the 2.0 TDI as well in a wagon. Been reading and watching reviews and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Another week gone with no news.

Golf 7 international release to Australian release: 7.5 months

Octavia international release to Australian release: 10.5 months and counting

I really don't think Skoda Aus or VWA are too serious about the Australian market.

Funny when you think about it, as New Zealand is selling the new Octy already full on

That's because they just contact Skoda direct. I really wonder what things would be like if Skoda could just be themselves here like in the UK. They need the backing money of VAG though unfortunately.

Saw a new model white Octavia Wagon at a set of traffic lights in Liverpool yesterday. It had a car on either side of it, so could only really see the front and a little of the side, but it looked like a fairly base model. My daughter also said that she saw a new white hatch on the road the other day.

                      Perhaps a release is imminent!

They did say Nov or Dec at worst. The RS most likely will be first QTR next yr unless the Facebook poster from Skoda was right and it will be end of the year. Probably that will be reality for most who order a factory built one, by then they could well be MY15.

I thought someone said November 23rd specs and what not were being released? Not long now, especially if they're being seen in Sydney.

Probably holding off as long as they can to shift all their existing stock... Alto still have new (superseded model) Octavias in their yard.

Yeah sales of the Octy are waaaay down so I don't think they are holding off to shift stock, the boat sailed early in the year.

The new model would be exactly what they need to increase sales. Come on Skoda release it already!!
