Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've been having similar issues, but mine completely stalls (also in stop-start traffic).

The dealer has tried a DSG service, then replacing the clutch pack without much luck, so I'm booked in next week to have the ACF valve replaced, and hopefully this will fix the problem.

But I gotta say, it's turned me off DSG altogether.

    THEN: MY10 Black Magic RS

This used to be a problem for me, but there was a software upgrade around late 2011 that fixed it.

I just called a skoda dealer and he said that there is no upgrade available for the DSG... Might call around a bit more...

Sorry if I'm wrong about that, but I had a stalling problem, reported it at service and they told me they did a software upgrade to fix it. The problem no longer exists so... *shrug*

Now, I hear a clunk each time I turn left at low speeds, I will have to call and pay a visit to the dealer again I guess.
The clunk at slow speed - Get the guys to check the drive shaft thrust washers, aparently they wear and need replacing. around $250 fitted.

I believe there is a new software update too for the 6 speed DSG, had mine checked today and there is an udate, just need to get it booked to have it done. It was last in the shop in April this year, so must be something new.......

Hey Guys, my skoda actually shutters and vibrates in second gear. 1st and all the others are fine. Macarthur skoda have told me they have ordered the parts for the mechatronic recall, hope that fixes my small issue.

The shuddering sounds more like a clutch pack problem. I d be asking questions.

Will do, thanks for the heads up! I have one year warranty, but what are the clutch packs worth including labour?

Not sure but I accidently seen the bill to Skoda Oz for the Yeti. Had the clutch packs replaced, mechatronics recall and camshaft followers recall. The bill was over $2 K.

                            Thanks Dazag,

I will go back again, was there last week, they had a look at it for two hours and found nothing. I was told "It could be the spring, when we put it up, and back on the ground the sound is gone".

A day later, the clunk sound is back. I was told, if it does come back, they have it in the records and should be covered by Warranty, which I run out of at the end of this month.

So I thought I would give you guys an accurate description of my issues...

                              1) When im at a stop in D mode, 50% of the time the engine idles a touch rougher than the other 50%. If I change to N or P then it idles smooth.
                              2) When im at a stop and want to take off, I lift off the brake and if I let the car go forward by itself without pressing the accelerator, it will shudder till the clutch fully engages
                              3) When I want to take off I feel there is a slight slip of the clutch in 1st gear
                              4) If I almost come to a stop (i.e. brake down to 5kmh) and the car is still in 2nd gear, when i take off the clutch will slip and the revs will build to 2,000rpm and then grab when the speed matches the revs...
                              5) Just before I come to a full stop, there is a slight shudder
                              6) When driving I find that in D mode, unless im flat to floor, changes will happen no higher than 3,000rpm. Sometimes im in 2nd/3rd and i'll push more on the accelerator to speed up faster in hope that will hold the gear a bit longer (till around 4,000rpm) and it will change at 2,500rpm causing not the greatest experience. I find this to mainly happen when under more load (i.e. going up an incline/hill). Down hill it changes a bit better...

                              Your thoughts...??

just so you know, mine does the same thing as 3, 4, 5 and 6. 1, hmm sort of does it, yes its a little rougher. 2, mine does that too, but without the shudder.

do you have a dogbone/transmission mount insert? they don't help NVM at all.
