Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

That lowered stance looks perfect, and combined with that front splitter - awesome!!

Got no idea how ur getting up and down driveways tho coz guys, believe me when I say it, this thing is low... and thats when I saw it without the front lip..

I freakin love the look of the car with the lip... well worth the effort organising the group buy...

Thanks for the comments guys. This is about as low as I can go on the car and still be practical. The only real issue I have is those rubber speed bumps that are about as wide as your car. Those are almost guaranteed to have me touch the middle a little. Other than that I have had no problems anywhere. I go over a ton of speed bumps everyday and as long as I take it easy it's no big deal.

Thanks again Daniel for organising this. It looks fantastic.

Thought I might update this. I've got a mk7 Golf R ready on Tuesday for me to pick and enjoy for the next 4 years so the Octavia will be relocated to a new home soon. I'll miss it's practicality but at least I am getting an R to make me feel a bit better. I drove the new RS and I wasn't completely convinced by it. The fabric seats are disappointing compared to the alcantara in mine, the looks weren't hitting the right spot for me and the drive didn't feel as connected as I do currently in my Octavia. The real clincher for me though was the 8 month wait to get one with the tech pack. Anyway it's been fun and if anyone wants to buy a manual petrol wagon soon let me know.

Yes, the new Octavia fails to impress me also, I have no intention to get another one

The R will be a fun ride for sure
