  • Cheers DS. I hope I get more drop in the front, as that was the whole point of buying the springs. Certainly not worth the $ and ride for 6mm of drop!!!!

    • i just took another measurement:-

      before front: 680mm
      before rear: 690mm

      after front: 650mm
      after rear: 670mm

      after after front: 645mm
      after after rear: 660mm

so over the last few years, front has dropped a further 5mm and the rear another 10mm.

maybe i didn't measure the "before" properly, but considering it looked like this before, the measurements look right......

      dealer look.....

      eibach look......

      • Hey Donweather, how have you found yours for towing since fitting the springs??

I need to replace the shocks (OEMS are done) , and have been looking at some Bilsteins, but after reading this i might get the full Eibach B12 Pro-Kit. I tow an enclosed dual axle dirt bike trailer with mine and usually have the back fully packed if going on holidays, failing that I ditch the trailer and take a bike rack. So the towing capability is needed.

        • You can always get something akin to the Polyair bag systems.
One of the Melburnians had them in his Octavia, which was constantly loaded with bicycle-repair tool boxes. Worked well!
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
          1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
          1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
          Not including hers...

I just have the stock shocks with eibach springs. Towing is fine. I've had a Jetski and fully loaded wagon with 4 people and not had any rubbing issues. That's with 225 tyres. About to try 235 tyres so see if that changes things?

            • Let me know how you with the 235 tyres as I'm also looking at new wheels & tyres soon (assuming you are running the stock 18x7.5 rims? ).

The Occy is getting new brakes, suspension and tyres/wheels .........$$$

I have the Bilstein B14 coilovers in my wagon. It rides well but just a tad bouncy for my liking. In heinsight i should've went for the B16 so i could play around with the strut dampening to stiffen it up a little. This is how it sits with about a 40 - 45mm drop
