Night Time Assist - Steering turns on Fog Lights

FWIW Nissan had this feature on the first FWD Pintara that was released in about 1991 and also on Patrols about the same time. It's not new, it's not a Skoda invention and on Nissans it was a standard feature not a $150 to turn on a setting option.

I have had it turned on ion my car since new and it is marginally handy when turning into unlit drives and the like in the country but overall the swiveling HID headlights are a far better option and way more useful in normal driving.

Ha ha Nissan were late again My Toyota ST170 Corona had it in 1988 as standard on the top of the range G spec model

What would be the point of this? Aren't you looking the other way when in reverse?

light from a lower point gives a better indication of how close you are to the car in front when you see the reflection.

and in reverse, both foglights r activated.

ooh! I wonder how that is coded?

Would be good if in reverse both the rear fogs came on as well as the reverse lights.


PS: I had turning lights on my U13 Bluebird.

the U12 pintara was before that, and it had turning lights too

replace your reverse lights with LED ones and youll have some extra brightness

Yes, Dad had a U12. The U13 was streets ahead in all respects.

hey hey.......unfortunately i haven't been able to find any specific vcds for the non-vrs octavias.
this is the coding i used:-

Control Module > [09] Central elec / Coding / Long coding helper / byte14 / bit 5, Check the box.
Exit
Do it

maybe the above will also work for the 118tsi

got my VCDS cable today and did this exactly as you stated above... I can now say that this works 100% with a 118tsi
