Caution with left foot braking while accelerating on these cars.
The electronics are set up in cars these days that prevent the throttle body opening while the brake and accelerator are applied together.
It's a design to prevent the good old "line locking" and P platers doing brake jobs.
We had a problem with a Transporter doing the same at work.
It turned out to be the combination of left foot braking and accelerating was causing the van to shut down.
Once we started using the handbrake, all good.
What kind of car was she driving?
My Suzuki XL7 had the accelerator stick on the freeway at 110.
The apprentice that had fitted the cruise control allowed the new cable to obstruct the throttle cable, so at freeway speed the throttle body remained jammed 2/3 open.
I'm glad it was me driving and not my wife.
Lots of noise popping it in neutral and stopping the car as the engine tried to rev it's rings off before I could shut it off safely.
