Any market for Columbus nav radio

So I have had mine removed to replace with an Alpine one with proper line out... Now I am left with a Columbus nav unit (and need to pull out my bluetooth module, if I can find it?)..

Have tried selling it for $500 to some VW owners at work but they don't like the colour difference to the rest of their dash, i.e. it is green vs their red..

Is there much of a market considering that all Octavia and Superb now come with this unit? I guess if I get the Bluetooth module out there is a market for that for people of older models?

Does anyone know where the Bluetooth module is and can I just unplug it?

And is there a security code somewhere that I would need for the Columbus so someone else can have it?

1. You can change the menu to red and trhe bootup logo to VW using VCDS.
2. Plenty of market for them. At $500 people should be knocking down your door
3. Factory BT module under drivers seat, if its aftermarket it could be under the Columbus, behind the climate controls. Or stuffed next to the head unit cage
4. Yes you need the security code. You can ask your dealer to give it to you as you own the car and it is locked to the VIN. Will not work in a new vehicle without the PIN. It can be cracked with the correct cable and software (not sure of anyone in Melbourne who has it but its available in Sydney and Adelaide.

PS advertise as RNS510/Columbus. The only difference is the little 'Columbus' writing at the top. Internally it is exactly the same.

Yeah but I can't change the dial color which was his complaint, or can I?

P.S. Thanks I found a largish (for a BT) module under the drivers seat (under plastic cover), no mention of bluetooth on the casing but unplugged it and turned the car on and bluetooth gone from the MFD...

Are these salable or do the pre bluetooth included cars not have the connection there for it?

I would advertise it on Briskoda.
People were paying way more than you want for the shonky Asian rip off copies of the Columbus there and in the UK the base radio on Skodas is below the Bolero that we get here so there seems to be a big upgrade market demand.

as kamold said, advertise it as an RNS-510, which it is, and watch people try & break ur front door down!!!!

the bluetooth unit is also sellable, and can be retrofitted into others. i retrofitted one into mine.
advertise it based on the part number displayed on the bt unit itself.

I was thinking about putting one in a while back, but wasn't sure how much of a nightmare it would be for me. I have very little time so would need to get it installed and coded by someone. Providing install isn't an awful/expensive experience, I would buy it from you. The GPS wouldn't be working so good in it though without the proper antenna connected I would imagine, and not sure how the BT would connect up.

I'm not sure how big an antenna you really need for BT.. My Alpine is not plugged in to the roof one it has its own little one which is just stuck to the top of the head unit INSIDE the dashboard and I still get excellent signal with 9 satellites. Apparently if it is not enclosed in metal (mostly plastic above it in the dash) it isn't a problem...

To be honest, the GPS part is not really useful anyway with the cost of the maps exorbitant and after a few months with the way the roads I usually need it for changing, it would get annoying. I'll talk to my wife as it is her car these days and she might prefer keeping the old Audience with the 6 stacker, over a single disc with touch screen.

radio is gone and bluetooth I am waiting on a response from someone interested, checking to see if they have the connector.

Lot of interest, I thought i was going to have to join briskoda or list on ebay...

Will have to post some pics in the mod section of the new system..
