I think your chrome grille surround would look amazing either black or red. Just saying.

Alas, the fitter at Quikfit Gladesville took one look and said... No. Why? Because it wouldn't fit in the small space... He offered to try but I didn't want to stuff around cutting off the stock then trying to fit it and then realise it wouldn't...

You already have a central resonator!... Just run straight through to the rear. You know you want to.

Nice to see an 'older' car given a new lease on life with a fresh new owner!!

Great work so far, and looking forward to seeing how things progress...

Hey guys going through a similar project myself. Watch the used parts that come up on this site, mk5 stuff bolts right up, so far I have picked up
-front dba gold slotted n drilled rotors, hawk ceramic pads, braided lines and gti calipers $300 (5000km but essentially new!!)
                  -rear adjustable h n r sway bar 150
                  -dump and cat 450

Also checkout ecs tuning for good prices on stuff.
Also got my h n r 50mm springs from orange speed in Germany $280 landed!! Bargain!!
Other items to watch for with the engine is the timing chain and the cam follower for the fuel pump. Ecs has an awesome choice for belt kits, several levels to choose from
Also if u haven't already pull both ur pollen filter n bottom of front inner guards n prepare to b both amazed and appalled

Oh yeah I will also b changing the oil every 5000k(just my preferance) and will b using Subaru upper engine cleaner at the same time to combat the carbon/oil build up. Done it once so far it it drastically improved both the idle and general engine smoothness. Also cleared a exhaust/emissions light that had come up the day before bonus!

From wat I've read there is bugger all to b gained from a cai except noise and heat soak, so I'm just fitting a panel filter
