ahhh I know which one yours was now!

Ok, so I'm getting soft as I age, I'm going to take the Octavia backwards a notch
The VWR springs are very firm, they are excellent for entusiastic cornering
When I'm in the mood I love the firm ride!
When I'm tired and in rush hour traffic (no fun) putting up with Sydney roads, the firmness is a bit too much for me

I phoned Eibach and talked to them about the car and what I was looking for
I want good handing but don't want it to feel like a go kart and some comfort
(They didn't want to hear about taking the car to the track)
They explained to me that if you bought a BMW and optioned it with the MTech sport suspension,
that's the same as what I'm getting with the Eibach B12 kit (springs and shocks), Sounds good to me!
This is likely to be a 30mm or 40mm ride height drop (more than I prefer but should be ok)

      It's getting installed on Friday

      (Anybody want my VWR springs?)

Eibach is Bilstein? Bilstein are traditionally quite firm in the initial stages of compression & the struts get a bit of stiction (Bilstein equipped Subaru owners will know what I mean). OTOH, you are buying a kit, so you have some comeback with the specialist you have consulted.

I'll be really interested to see the result

I fitted Koni Sports / yellows to the rear of mine yesterday. They have a very compliant initial compression. What was really surprising is that the OEM dampers have about half of the compression damping that the Koni have. I think this actually gives a harsher ride because the spring (Eibach diesel wagon) isn't under enough control.

Yeah, the Eibach B12 kit has Eibach springs and Blisten shocks
I'm keen to see the outcome, should be better than the stock stocks (which I'm guessing are built to a price)

            The Koni should be excellent!
Looks like changing the rear shocks/springs is a piece of cake

its all a piece of cake TBH

its very simple. done it enough times on enough cars

when you do the fronts, buy some spring clamps. makes them 357544346 times easier to get the strut apart
