I guess the real advantage is that you can personally inspect the wheels and tyres before they are fitted, and also watch the whole install process. Cant do that if buying online...
Worth the small extra cost I reckon.

Also, you can physically sit each wheel next to the car on the rubber raised blocks to see how it will look before a purchase.
    Cant do that online...

Plus, I can use the 24month interest free terms too....

Sometimes wheels that look from front on have some unappealing dish when you look from other angles.

That's a very good point! Even photos on an angle aren't enough to determine what it would really look like.

          ORRR.....
I could go down the path of fitting DETROITS as I did on the Tiguan??

          Thoughts??

          Mixed brand message??

I really love Detroits, but wonder what they would look like on the RS??

My brother's got a set of stock 17" detroits from his gti, if I can get a hold of him ill try post a photo of his detroits next to my Octy. Granted ive got a 90tsi so body will look a bit different, plus I've got an SUV stance. :p

I think I've got a bad photoshop lying around somewhere of a platin grey wagon with detroits, ill see if I can find it.

In my opinion, the 18" detroits would work really well as they are a chunkier wheel design.
              17" denver's not so much.

You don't want something too thin as it shows how small the brakes are.
You also don't want something with little gaps as it's a pain to clean (my RPF01's are as small a gap as I would ever go.)

Apologies, my bro has 17"Denver's, not detroit... as team_v corrected above.

Couldn't find the denver wheels photoshopped onto the octy so here's a quick bad one with detroits. slightly dropped too.

Out of the two you posted, I rather like #1.
However... The Denver's would certainly look interesting. I'm considering them myself!

@Cbay- I'm totally willing to take the fall in a trial fitment of them for everyone here! ;p

Hmm... 24 months interest free, hey?...

would it be a strange diluting of the brands..?

I reckon the Denvers might look better... Little less flashy. I like it, though.

Don't worry about blending the brands

I think the Detroits are a little too flashy
I also think you some curves to go with the Octavia body
The Detroits are a flat/square surface which suit some bodies better than others
