My wheels have no poke but sit pretty flush with the guards.... If I go 225/35r19 it would scrub bad! Mine sits over the tyres now but....

if this online thingy is correct, then I may not have too much of a problem after all based on the photos of your car todd!

Well... I finally found some rims that I like!

Moving down to 17" rims, though...
I was quoted (by K-Mart tyre and auto) tyres for the stock 18's = $250-$430... Tyres for 17's = starting from $125.
        Savings! Yay!

How do they look from the other side?
Cos, anything with a 'flowing" design one way, will look opposite the other way...like it is "scooping up the air"
          Does that make sense?

          Just curious

Erk - that's for the sort of tyre that will give you a fright the first time you have to stop quickly in the wet

All the $100 per corner tyres with wierd names are hard and low grip

You get what you pay for in tyres

My advice would be "don't go there"

IMO tyres and brakes are two areas you NEVER skimp on. they will save your life one day.

I bought my last set of tyres for the R32 (Goodyear F1 Assym2's) off Tirerack and saved about 40% off what you pay locally. Shipped to my door in 2 days too.

After my OEM Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT+ wore out in 16,000km I had some $150 Sava tyres put on.
40,000km later and after the same abuse, they're still going. Nice grip (Macquarie Pass ) and a little quieter than the Dunlops, too!!

                  Would buy them again, too...

$355 from K-Mart (Castle Hill) for 18" Conti Contact Sport 2 fitted and balanced. I know, as I just had them fit a new tyre after I picked up a self tapper right on the outside edge of my front LHS tyre - couldn't be repaired because the puncture was too close to the sidewall, apparently...

Circumstances were such that I wasn't able to shop around for a better price. Couldn't do much, other than wince when I was told the price! The worst bit is that when the other tyres are worn out (all now about half way), I'll have one tyre that's only half worn.

I was quoted $89/each for 225/40R18's and 225/45/R17's today from Tempe Tyres, so I went with 18" rims instead of 17 like I was going to.

                          wow that's cheap!

I could barely get premium contact 2s for the fiat for that price, and in 15"!
