Oh right. I can see how some would confuse a 300kW V8 with AWD with a vRS and lump them into the same category. Fairly easy mistake to make really.

You're obviously not getting the point I'm making about the HIRE CAR company purchasing a FLEET of vehicles.
Why in gods name would they go for the EXPENSIVE SPORTS model when they can get the BASE or SLIGHTLY ABOVE BASE model for less and have better resale on them.

          I.E.:
          Why buy 500 vRS's instead of 118/103's...
          Why buy 500 RS4's instead of A4's.

Do you understand what point I'm trying to put across, now?

I get exactly what you were saying Mysticality...

(It seems like some people on this forum are too quick to misunderstand comments and take offence at them, or think we are all in it for fight...)

Has happened a few times now I have noticed.....
2018 Ralyee Green RS wagon. Fully optioned.

You have no understanding of the way car rental companies buy their products and your analogy is completely flawed.
Using your analogy why would any rental car company have a single Audi or even Skoda when then can have Hyundai i30s at a greatly reduced cost?
Rental car companies have vehicles that fulfill the requirements of their customers at the higher end and if there was a demand for for example vRS vehicles they would be quite happy to stock them because they would be able to rent them out and make money which is what they do.
At the lower end the companies use whatever manufacturers are prepared to dump and discount prices due to overstocking situations or requirement for registration number increases. Whoever gives the best deal wins its as simple as that.
Just out of curiosity what is your experience with rental cars? What do you generally rent when you need one?

If the rental company wanted some European wagons, then it would make sense to go with Octavia, Golf, Passat, A4, etc.
If the rental company wanted some European SPORTS wagons, then they'd go with the vRS, R36, RS4, etc.
Obviously they would charge a premium because it isn't a Euro wagon that they're renting to you, its a Euro SPORTS wagon.

The vRS isn't just another trim level, its the SPORTS trim level, and would be treated accordingly.

Here, why doesn't someone email the head of purchases at a car rental place and see what they have to say about it... Their response would probably be along the lines of:
"If we want the sports one to rent out as a sports model then we'd buy it, if we don't then we would get the base or luxury model"

I don't have much experience with rental companies, as I never fly - I always drive.
I'm also under 25, which means nobody would rent a car to me even if I wanted one - but thats a story for another day.

And lastly, why would they have Audi's, Skoda's, VW's, or Merc's or anything when they can have Chery?... Because there is a market for it.
Sure, you can buy a fleet of i30's for much less but if your potential customers turn away when they see thats all you have it becomes a problem.

Why don't you start your own car rental company and only stock SL63, M5, RS6 and vRS?
Oh, right, of course. It would go bust!!
Nobody wants an SL63, M5, RS6 or vRS when they're cutting costs and going on a holiday!!

                      So you are under 25.
I thought that you knew jack **** about what you were writing about and now I know why.
If you don't know stay quiet and listen.
Read your last post you have basically completely disagreed with all your earlier ones.
(And by the way I have SOLD plenty of cars to rental companies over the years so I KNOW for a FACT how they think, what they buy and WHY). You know nothing and are talking through the hole on your head that should be used for drinking milk.

I thought that was obvious... "P-Plate vRS"?
What is the age of the majority of P-Platers? 17-21?

As for the other comments, I'm not even going to dignify you with a response.

Guys please keep it friendly on here. The Skoda community is small enough as it is so there's no need for childish behavior or name calling by certain individuals on this forum, and I do think you all know whom I'm referring to.

So again, please keep it friendly!!!!!

                            Kiwi,
It is great to have your company, but you do seem to be very quick to take offense and hurl abuse.

Can we please keep things friendly and bear in mind we all have a common love of our skoda cars?
If we do disagree on some things, can we please keep it civil? Life is too short to have arguments.

                            Thanks mate.

I’m struggling to understand why some members here must have a go at the P platers.

To those who act this way; I’d like to say: Just get over it, the times had changed. Did it come to your mind that you may be trying to insult someone who is going to be a very successful professional..... I could give you more reasons why you should treat young people with respect, but I will leave it there.

After all we all want the safer roads.
