  • Dealer Servicing = Disappointing

Went to canberra local Skoda dealer for first 15000km service. The guy asked me if I want them to rotate front & rear wheels for $38. I said yes. I know I am lazy....

Picked up the car in the afternoon, was rush out so did not check. Now I found they did not rotate the wheels because the mark I made on one of the front rims is still there.

Please don't tell me they don't actually rotate the rims but rubber tyres?

They didnt rotate your wheels. Dealers are not only a rip off but their level of service in alot of cases is poor.

Take it back and demand they do the work you paid for.

Thanks mate. I will call them first thing in the morning next Monday.

This is the downside when there is only one dealer in town, no comptetation.

Wheels "should" really come off during a service anyway so they can properly check your brakes etc.

I got my tyres rotated at the last service for no additional cost.

As I said, if there is only one Skoda dealer in town, they can charge whatever they want

What about an independant VW/Skoda/Audi specialist? Or a European car specialist?

Surely there must be at least one in Canberra?

                  What about this place: http://www.startlocal.com.au/auto/me...ve_618106.html

A BMW specialist but worth a try.

I think there is one VW centre someone mentioned before. I will see how dealership answer me next week then decide who is going to look after my next service.

There's a joint out in Belco. I think it's Canberr VW Centre. It's on the short one way street off Nettlefold St Belco. I have spoken to them and they seem really good.

I'm waiting delivery of a Yeti which should be here next Jan/Feb. I bought it from Nowra because I was not happy with the knowledge of the sales guys here in Canberra so I doubt there service staff would be much better.

                      Happy Days.

Definitely give the guys at Canberra VW Centre in Belconnen a call. I know I've seen Skodas there in the past - they are VAG specialists so they'll have no problems with your car I'm sure.

They're also top blokes to boot.

I second Canberra VW Centre. Their service is second to none. They do every VAG car. You'll find it's cheaper than a stealership too. There is the main one at Belconnen or if your south side there is one at tuggrenong too. I highly recommend them

Thanks guys. A few questions regarding VW centre.

Do they do warranty work as well?

My car is under Smartleasing, do they accept fleet car?

                            cheers

They are an independent service centre, so warranty repairs would still have to go to your dealer.

I don't know how your leasing plan works - does the lease company pay for servicing under the agreement? If so I can't see why they wouldn't accept an independent service centre unless there's something specific in your lease contract that requires dealer service centres.
