    I'm pretty sure you can disable the cold bulb warning via VCDS. Just a thought.

      nup cant.

      golf mk6, Octavia 1z(FL) and equivalents with similar CECMs cant disable this function.

      golf mk5, and octaiva 1z(pre-FL) can disabled it per channel.

        Thanks

        Didn't realise they had removed the functionality from later vehicles.

            Hey guys,

            Perhaps you'd be able to help me. I believe this to be the same sought of set up except that im looking to hook up a vrs drl light bar which I believe shares the same 3 pin connector. I've ordered the connect but am having issues with hooking up the pins in the connector and crimping. Off my last set of pins, when I plugged in the connector I don't think it was connection properly as it was pushing the wires out of the connector.

            Would anyone be able to help?
            My plan was to either 1) power from existing 2 wire DRL connection or 2) use a purchased drl relay and hook it up to the battery.

            @zei20t, any chance I could grab some of those pins off you? Happy to pay.

            Cheers guy looking to get these unconnected DRLs finally shining haha.

              yup shouldn't be an issue, I have a handfull left.

              is the plug round at one end and square at the other with 3 pins in a row?

                  Very old thread, I know...

                  But how would I wire these DRLs as they were intended?
                  Ie, Full brightness with headlights/parkers OFF, Dimmed with headlights/parkers ON?

                  Code fogs to be used as DRLs;
                  Get plugs to fit drl, get plugs to fit car side (make my own adapter/extension so I don't have to cut anything on the car)
                  Negative fog light wire on car side goes to negative pin on drl;
                  Positive fog light wire on car side goes to full brightness positive pin on drl;

                  Where do I wire from to trigger the dimmed pin on the drl when headlights/parkers ON?

                  Thanks to anyone who can help.

                    just extend a wire from your current parking light/DRL to the 30% pin on the LED fog lights.

                    the rest should be ok to use as a normal fog, assuming you get the correct plug.

                    youll need to do some VCDS coding to make the fog light be the DRL - it also may not be possible
