New 2014 Octavia Spied!

I really love how Skoda have done their latest design cover-ups (the Rapid/this new Octavia). They're 'simply clever' (sorry ) in adding old generation details. I just hope that the final product does end up looking different enough...




Looking rather Audi (and Lexus from the front) like if I'm honest.

Good observations. Again to bring up the latest Jetta, like the Jetta the new Octy seems quite Audi in the rear.

My sketch of the 2013 Octavia III (as much as I wanted to do with it I had to be realistic and I think it's going to end up pretty similar). The LED running lights (we know they're there) have confused me as to their shape so I left them out. Sorry for the lateness, something called the HSC had to end first (and thankfully it has!) .

Nice work Jake.

I think you'll find the headlights will have a big round bit closer to the grille & the fogs will mirror the big round bit. That front end looks like my 2007 model.

That looks great! Pretty much how I expect it will look too...I'd buy one of those (price dependant of course!)
An RS wagon with a body kit would look pretty cool

Thanks Donweather! Thing is, that's what I'm planning I'm 18 and I've just finished the HSC yesterday so after a gap year, Industrial Design (the only avenue for car design in Australia) is what I'll be doing at Uni, so one day hopefully I will be a car designer .

Is it just me or are we going to loose the extra little touches, like having the model of the car in the headlights?

Who knows until it actually arrives and you see it in the flesh. There is one thing for sure there is a definite move across the whole VW group to have a similar design look and I guess even more parts sharing than previously. Up to now Skoda have been fairly proudly autonomous and to some degree have been able to tell VW where to go as far as corporate looks are concerned but it seems that they may be starting to loose that war. It would be fairly horrible to think of ending up with Seat/Skoda/VW and Audi basically being badge engineered versions of the same product at different price points.

If they use the 103kW 1.4TSI that's in the new Golf, then yes it will have it. I predict the 1.8TSI 132kW to be the volume seller here however, at least until the RS models arrive.
