Just realised that in the VGA cars range, the cheapest 2.0tdi DSG is not Skoda but Golf!

Octavia Elegance 2,0 TDI DSG $35,790
Jetta 2.0 TDI 6 Speed DSG $37,790

Pricing needs rethink... or the Octavia may get overlooked at the entry to mid level by the new Mazda 6 and soon to be released Accord Euro.

At least they're heading in the right direction. I have to say that I don't think VW Australia have done a very good job of marketing this brand so far. They need to be out there telling the Australian public how good they are, rather than just relying on one boring TV ad.

Good to see the update of these numbers.

Just to put it in perspective. There were less than 300 VW Golf 2s sold here, between 1990 and 1993

And 700VR6s between 94 and 98.

That means that skodas are gonna be more prevalant than these cars in a few years time.

I think the octavia is great and would like to see the fabia here also.

So do Skoda but they're chasing a competitive price tag hence its delay here.
