    Indeed. Mate of mine just bought a Golf GTI, but basically had a choice of a red demo model, an optioned up white one (with options he didn't really want) for $5k more or wait a while for them to come in. He opted for the white one since he didn't fancy going without a car for a while.

      There seems to be a glut of 3 dr Gtis if you are happy to have whats around, I've seen them driveaway for 38k at the moment....he must have encountered a busier dealer, or wanted the 5 door.

          The latest Car Advice article on the Superb Wagon has the following quote...

          The latest VFACTS figures reveal that 638 Skodas had been sold from January to June this year, up on last year’s 477 for the same time period. Of those, 130 were Superbs;

          The whole article can be seen here..

          Another ringing endorsement...the problem is even if people start taking notice there are not many to be found around and even the one that are coming have been held back from dealers I've heard..which seems like a strange move from Skoda management.

              Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I have heard that Victoria Police have recently ordered 5 RS vehicles for unmarked highway patrol vehicles. (not sure if wagons or liftbacks)

              So next time you spot an RS, slow down!

                Skoda seem confident of announcing that they will sell about 1800 cars this year (so ~ 150/month) in this article below

                (Under the picture of the White vRS wagon in the article).

                  I was provided with some information from my dealer recently which showed that Skoda sales have increased by 44% over the last 12 Months whic came from vFacts.

                  Good news for all Skoda owners i think.

                    Wow, looks promising although keep in mind 44% growth with a low starting figure may not be huge figures. Definately heading in the right direction regardless..

                    • So what you are saying is that almost every person who didn't buy a Chrysler purchased a Skoda instead?

                            • From press release here

                              Skoda comes to Sydney (International Motor Show) after a record September. With just under 1200 units year to date 2010, the brand is almost 50 per cent up on the same period in 2009.
                              The arrival of an automatic version of Octavia Scout in January will be a fillip for the brand, Wiesner contends. Superb is key but Yeti, however, will be the "gamechanger" he says.

                              "Superb has already done a lot for us... This [Yeti] will do more," he opined.

                                In think we need to keep in mind that this is a lagging indicator as far as Skoda are concerned. They didn't sell 209 cars in September they registered 209 cars in September. Most of the sales were probably made in June or July.
                                Any kick in sales that Skoda gets from the motor show probably won't be evident in vfacts figures until February 2011.
