  • Anybody fitted a rear view camera to FL Octavia VRS?

    Hi Guys.

I have a RNS 510 in my Octavia VRS. Has anybody on the forums succesfully installed a rear view camera?

Found this post Fitting A Reversing Camera to an Octavia VRS FL 10 Plate - BRISKODA.net - The Skoda Forum and Community but wouldn't have a clue about making a relay. The cameras are cheap on Fleabay but the instructions show to just wire them into the reverse lights?

Surely this will throw up a CANBUS error? The poster links to an ebay item to stop this but where does this go?

Also does it still display the vehicle outline which shows distance from the rear parking sensors?

A lot of posts from lately! My apologies

    Bump!

I'm surprised nobody has done this

Looking at KUFATEC GmbH & Co. KG - Rckfahrkamera Interface universell Audi - Volkswagen but not sure if it will disengage the rear parking sensors.

I have the kufatec blue tooth solution so not sure if both would work

I have the Kufatec reversing camera adapter (and a good CCD camera off eBay)
The instructions are shocking - have not worked it out yet

I have a camera that I haven't installed yet. It is an OEM style RGBS camera, so no converter needed.
Only need to enable backup camera low in VCDS. I think its much better than using a composite to RGBS converter.
Just haven't had the time to do the install as I need to slightly cut the boot release opening in the boot sheet metal.

One advantage of aftermarket headunits is most support the cheap, generic composite video RVCs. RBGS is a bit of overkill for an RVC, but it does allow for a pretty high quality image to be transmitted.
