    Hi redline,

I have it set to open all doors etc etc but this is when I hold the boot button on the key. If I push and hold it the boot 'pops' but once in a few it will not fully unlatch and when I go to pull it open it's popped but caught on something.. as if it hasn't fully unlatched.. I think it's going to be a hard one to explain to the dealer as it doesn't happen every time. :S

MAPS! I've downloaded the new maps and they seem to be working.. just about to do the POI! YAY! Thanks for the help!

Just an update.. The Maps worked perfect and the POI I installed worked a treat too! Thanks again everyone!

I'm pretty sure that's what it's supposed to do, mine does the same thing. I think it's a safety thing.

Just to make it clear as others mentioned it, but I think you missed it. When you press the boot button, it just unlocks it. You still need to press the physical button on the boot itself for it to unlatch. Sometimes the first action will be enough but you are still supposed to press the button on the boot. The keyfob is for unlocking, not for opening if that makes sense.

The key fob actually opens the (small) boot of my Superb. Wouldn't it be the same as an Octavia? .....or maybe not.

the whole idea of holding the boot button on the remote down is so that u don't have to press the button under the boot - just lift the boot.
i haven't been able to "just lift it" to this date.

For me the boot button only works sometimesafter you've pressed it once, opened the boot and closed it again and then pressed the boot button again. Personally, the fact that the car has a boot button (unlike many other saloons) overrides the need for the button on the key. How the key boot button doesn't work only one of a very few negative things about the Octavia IMO.

Mine actually works most of the time. I hold the boot button on the fob and then it unlocks and unlatches and all I have to do is pull it up.. It's only once in awhile it will not unlock and unlatch and I've got to press the button. The idea behind it is just so you can hold the button, walk up to the car and just lift the boot rather than press the button.
