  • New Octavia RS owner!

    Hi All,

    Just picked up our MY12 Candy White RS wagon.. Photos to be uploaded. I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping haven't been covered. With the Columbus, I have no POI at all and when I enter a city and click POI in this CITY, it just says ' please wait..' I've read about updating POI and updating firmware but I've checked and it's the latest. Is this function disabled for Australia?

    congrats .. my first preference was always white, but ended up with black instead.

    they go don't they!?!

    I've found that it depends on what you're searching for .. if I search for 'gas stations' nothing comes up, but once I scrolled further down to find 'petrol stations' it works. Good luck

      Just found the info.. Had to dive deeper into google. POI not supported on latest FW with Sensis v3. New maps next year apparently.. -sigh- another question though.. Any wagon owners had a sticky boot latch?

      Thanks for the info. Is your POI button greyed out? Where would I search for petrol stations?

        I think you just select Nav and then POI. My POI button is definitely not greyed out, and does indeed work. Use the 'category' field to find petrol stations.

            Thanks guys. I'll have to have another look. I select New Dest. and then can a new screen appears but POI is greyed out. Can you get to POI straight after pressing Nav? Do you know what firmware you have? Apparently POI doesn't work with the V3 maps and new firmware.. I guess I'll be sitting in the garage tonight playing! bluefrog, have you found that when you press and hold the boot button and try to open the boot it is still not quite unlatched? If I press and hold a second time it unlocks.. It's not every time so it's weird!

              yeah I forgot to mention 'New Destination', then after that POI. I've got no idea what firmware I'm running, but the car is MY12.

                    Thanks guys. Does anyone know what the latest maps are in 4 digit form? If someone that has POI work could check that would be awesome! You just hold 'Setup' and then press 'Version Information' and after that it should give you FW and Map HDD version. If mine are the same as someone that has POI working I can go back to the dealer and sort it out.

                          no worries

                          yeah that is weird, will be interesting to hear what they have to say ..

                          I have to say, the skoda satnav is one of the best OEM navs I've seen. It's a zillion times better than Holden's pile of shyte

                            7492 = 4.1
                            7360= 4.0

                              Is your boot opening at all when you press the button? The Skoda has a programmable (throught the setup menu in instrument cluster) ability to open all doors with one press of the unlock button, or just the driver's door followed by the remaining doors + boot with a 2nd press. The boot will normally unlatch with a single press of the boot button (and then you release by pressing the rubber button hidden up above the number plate), or alteratively hold the boot button in and the boot lid should unlatch and pop out for you. If you've just unlatched the boot without the other doors and, after doing whatever you need to do, close the bootlid, the car should relock all the doors with a confirmation flash of the indicators. If it's not doing all this, it may have a problem that needs fixing - maybe misalignment of the latch?
