Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Great stuff Dave! Any pics with V1s on? Cmon mate don't tease us The car looks great mate. Just on the tryes, I have ku36 on my R-fantastic grip but with caveat that I never pushed them in the wet so I don't knwo what the wet high performance is like. The only issue with these tyres as with all of these in this range is they're noisy as hell once you put 10K or so on them. I will definitely get them again though when the Skoda needs some.

    Love ya work dave!

Thanks mate. I'll put up some pics of the car on the new v1's once settled in and readjusted. Thanks for the heads up on the KU36's. I'm waiting for the group buy to go ahead on the wheels before get the new tyres so might be a month or so. Otherwise, I'll just import a set of pilot super sports from the states seeing the aussie dollar is getting higher.

No worries mate you're always welcome to drop by or meet up so you can have a look for yourself how the grill fits and what needs to be done before you ultimately decide on getting a set.

Hey guys just got the roof wrapped in carbon vinyl with windscreen banner/shade. Also got the tails tinted. Was supposed to have the rear spoiler diffuser wrapped in the carbon vinyl as well but had problems wrapping to satisfaction so ended up buying the vinyl myself so I can work on it in my own time.

BTW, I couldn't help myself last night so ordered a set of the carbon fibre mirror covers.

They should have come from the factory like that.

Thanks mate. I was getting really excited when I saw the rear spoiler diffuser getting wrapped in the carbon vinyl. Unfortuantely it didn't work out today. Persistence I suppose. Mark my words, I'll get it done. LOL. Also thinking about wrapping those B pillars too so the entire top half of the car has the carbon wrap theme going. Had some spare time and wrap so decided to see how good this new stuff is so I wrapped the centre console trim. Gotta redo it again cause there's voids where I cut off a bit too much. Doesn't help when you're working on it as the sun's going down and too adapted/lazy to turn on the lights.

                    Quoted for sheer awesome!

I loved the style they did the monte carlo fabia, was thinking an octavia would look good with similar treatment. turns out you nailed it!

                    • Hey guys been a while since posting up updated photos. Just recently installed the carbon fibre mirror covers and head light washer covers and carbon wrapped the diffuser fins on the rear spoiler for some added effect. Sorry about the car being a little dirty.

Yup all body enhancement parts are pretty much from superskoda.

Thanks mate. The washer covers are put on to elude the sense that the car did come with factory xenons. LOL.
