I believe that 18x8.5" rims will fit, aslong as you run the 225/35R18 tyre. From what I have found it seems anyone running 235/35 has had scrubbing issues and for 19" rims, this is what you need to satisfy the load ratings.
So 18's it is!
I don't mind them but I still have the same issue unless I go 18's. In which case I am leaning towards the GTC GT-C3's
I want to go 17x8.5
Some of these pics are making me very happy with my new purchase. Wagons look awesome!

Perfect. so VMR's will be a direct fit without need for any centre bore locating rings. Well I guess after some communication with pyspeed.com and due to lack of stock and suitability issues, I'm close to deciding on a set of VMR V701's in gunmetal. I think the V710 and V718 style has been done to death, plus I can't get them anyway (no stock) and looking for a clean upgraded look and some lightening compared to stock wheel weight. Any opinions about how they will look on my yellow liftback prefacelift RS? Good or bad or average? Also finally ordered a whole lot of stuff from superskoda.com (i.e. front and side skirts, rear diffuser, rear spoiler diffuser, etc) which I hope will all tie in with the gunmetal colour wheels to help break down a bit of that yellow to give the RS some contrast and uniqueness (not that there are that many yellow RS's around).
I have VMR 709 19" wheels on my pre-faced octavia rs and I rub on the rear with 235 and 225 tyres. The only way to eliminate this is to have some camber dialed on the rear or to shave the guard 4-5mm.
I know, it's not too common in Australia to powdercoat rims in any colour other than black, but I still think it'd look cool. Some Skoda people seem to like the idea though.
Porsche wheels might be a step too far, I agree, but, most importantly ,

What size you planning on going? I was considering the 701's if i had to go 18s too, but in matt black. The 713s dont come in 18! I think gunmetal would look too similar to my grey paint! I was going through pyspeed too, prices are very nice. Postage was around 400 i think?

That's good pricing for delivery, Velocity quoted me $700 for shipping.

Yeah thats my car. I had a golf before the skoda hence the username. I got my wheels through VMR directly. They were very helpful and the shipping was reasonable.

Hey mate, tried to pm you but says your inbox is full!
Just wondering how much scrubbing you actually had on the 19's?

When I had vogtland springs which lowered the car 15mm, I was scrubbing with 4 people in the car. Once I had the coilovers put in which lowered it 30mm, i was scrubbing with 3 people in the car due to the stiffer ride. After shaving the guard on the inside, I now over scrub on hard cornering. Thinking about maybe dialing some camber in the rear to eliminating the risk completely.

Thanks for the reply mate.
I'm all for the 19's but my missus is worried about the scrubbing issue when we have kids and start loading up the back but we both agree that they are the way to go! When you say shaving the gaurd, are you talking a lip on the inside of the rear quarter panel?
What offset is standard on the RS 18 Neptunes (I'm too lazy to go out and have a look - well it is a bit chilly ha ha ha ) ?? And what are the Off Set and actual widths of the 19's people are having scrubbing issues with??
If the Skoda is say a 50mm offset with their 18 x 7.5, then to get the same outer clearance with a 19 x 8 you would need a 56mm offset. But you would loose 12mm of inside clearance which may not be good for the fronts when turning??
Can anyone shed some light that are running 19's what their wheel width & offsets are and what size tyres you;re running.
In most cases (that I have found) the issue is with 19x8.5 ET45 where they are running either a 225 or 235 tyre. 235 being the one we need to run in order to stay within load index rating.
