  • Wheels for Skoda Octavia - Opinions on choice.

Looking at getting some rims for the Skoda RS. Mine is Anthracite grey and would like to get a new set of rims for it, I don't mind the Neptunes but would like something a bit sportier and make it a little more unique.

Was originally thinking of getting a tune done first, but I will stick with a set of rims and then later on I'll think about a tune

Anyway, open to suggestions but here are my current picks...

    MOTEGI RACINGMR118

    ASAGT5

    Bremmer KraftBR05

    Enkei EKM3

    GT-CX

    No Idea what these are

Haven't decided whether to go 18's or up one size to 19"...most likely 18's.

Most likely will be importing directly from Tirerack but if you find some local, please post them up!

Last but not least, what does everyone think Neptunes should sell for? Rim only?

    Cheers!

Hey mate I too am looking into a new set of wheels but thought I'd go a size up to 19". Looking at VMR and ASA GT1's. Just wondering what offset our factory wheels are?

I thought they were 18x7.5 ET51. How do you think the ride quality would be with 19's? I find the stock 18's are pretty crashy on the poor quality QLD roads... The 19's look great though.

I was thinking about repainting the Neptunes black if only to hide the brake dust

Sure can, i havent decided on a price yet though...they are perfect condition with not a single scratch! Continentals have plenty of tread left too.

I have a sick idea of putting some 19" Porsche GT3 RS rims (or replicas) on my black Octavia. I came across some sets on ebay, but did not research the whole project cost etc. Reds or oranges would look good I think...
              Or is it too show-off?

anyone know what kind of clearance the octavia has for wide rims? I'm wondering if a 8.5" rim will fit with offset of 50.

(PS - take this as me saying I'm joining the Skoda fold shortly )

I believe that 18x8.5" rims will fit, aslong as you run the 225/35R18 tyre. From what I have found it seems anyone running 235/35 has had scrubbing issues and for 19" rims, this is what you need to satisfy the load ratings.

                    So 18's it is!

I don't mind them but I still have the same issue unless I go 18's. In which case I am leaning towards the GTC GT-C3's

                      those RSe14s are 19x8".
                      won't that fit?

admittedly i haven't done any research for tyres that will fit on 19x8" rims.

Those RSe14's are nice, maybe being 8" dru you may be able to get away with 235's on 19" rims?

                            57.1mm, same as Golf GTI's.

I thought the issue would the same as I still require the 235's? I have had mixed opinions about the 19's with 235s. A few saying it will be fine, if I don't lower it more then 20-30mm...other saying it will scrub too much...

maybe I just go 20's lol

Perfect. so VMR's will be a direct fit without need for any centre bore locating rings. Well I guess after some communication with pyspeed.com and due to lack of stock and suitability issues, I'm close to deciding on a set of VMR V701's in gunmetal. I think the V710 and V718 style has been done to death, plus I can't get them anyway (no stock) and looking for a clean upgraded look and some lightening compared to stock wheel weight. Any opinions about how they will look on my yellow liftback prefacelift RS? Good or bad or average? Also finally ordered a whole lot of stuff from superskoda.com (i.e. front and side skirts, rear diffuser, rear spoiler diffuser, etc) which I hope will all tie in with the gunmetal colour wheels to help break down a bit of that yellow to give the RS some contrast and uniqueness (not that there are that many yellow RS's around).
