  • Time for another Skoda Cruise? (NSW/ACT)

    Hi Everyone,

Well I think it might be that time again to polish up the Skoda and bring it out for bit of a cruise! Lately we have seemed to have a few extra members popping up here and there, so was hoping there would be a few more members keen for a day of cruising, meeting up with Skoda owners and maybe even a little bit of a feed!

Would like this thread to be basically just an ideas thread, of where's and when but I was thinking that it would be good for a group to meet up in Sydney and another in Canberra and basically we all meet up somewhere in between for photos and some more driving.

As for dates, Late July or Early August?

Just a thought for now, I was gutted to have missed the last cruise so hopefully this time around we can have just as good turnout or even better

    Cheers!

    sounds like an excellent idea
i missed the last meet too.

somewhere between canberra & sydney would b perfect - makes it easier for both sides.
can't think of anywhere right now.....but i'll c if i can think of some.

don't mind either dates, as it will still b "cold" in jul or aug!

I'll be in if it is a Saturday (maybe a sunday if soccer is washed out)

Would be keen to meet some of the other Skoda owners out there.

            So 5 and counting!

Maybe we can make it Mid August to give people enough notice, I suppose saturday would be the best day to hold it on. So maybe the 20th or 27th of August?

As for location to meet up, I was trying to pin point somewhere basically equal distance drive for Sydney and Canberra drivers and what I have come up with so far is Mossvale. I think the last cruise basically ended up near here? Anyway, any thoughts would be great. Other ideas would be to meet up somewhere along the coast like south of Kiama?

The drive up through kangaroo valley and up the escarpment to the southern highlands is great. You could meet on the coast and finish in Moss Vale so that it's easy freeway driving from there to get home for most..

Hate to rain on your parade but that was actually last time's cruise.

How about somewhere around Goulburn, there must be someone who lives around there who can direct us to a good pub/eatery ?

i was thinkin the same too.

on another similar note, the Canberra VW folks r having a cruise down to Bredbo on Sun July 3rd. Obviously this won't suite the Sydney folks, but would any Canberra 'Skodanian' folks b interested?
                      More details here.

Goulburn sounds good. Might have a bit of a search and see what is around there, a nice pub would be great.

As I haven't actually got my Octavia yet I haven't had a parade, so it hasn't been rained on Doesn't take away from the fact that its a good drive which is why you probably selected it last time.
There would have to be something north-west of Goulburn I would think, like maybe heading out to Crookwell and back to Gunning say?

Having done the area between the Hume Highway and the coast, I was also thinking that something on the 'inland' side of the Hume might be good. I have no idea what's there, but it would be good to explore somewhere different.

Great idea! Loved the last one and happy to go again!

Here's an idea - I noticed quite a few of us seemed to enjoy the twisty road and occassion quick blat on the last run; what if we were to meet in Goulburn and head off to Wakefield Park for a half day drive-day?

I have been to more track days than I can count on my bike but have not done it in the Skoda, nor have I ever been to Wakefield!

                              Just a thought...
