Octavia vRS in the mail!

Just put down a deposit on an ex-demo vRS TDI wagon in Race Blue, can't wait to fly down to Melbourne to pick it up!
Optioned with leather, front park, MDI, Dynamic Xenons and a Fibredyne Bluetooth kit.
Unfortunately I have jury duty from next week so aren't going to be able to pick it up until the middle of next month
Looking forward to joining the Octavia club!

Yeah most people in Aus have never even heard of Skoda, let alone know the VAG connection or recent history of great reviews. Very popular in the UK and Ireland from what I understand though.

I told a mechanical engineering mate of mine I was thinking of a Skoda and he looked at me kind of puzzled and asked me if they were still made in Russia...

There are quite a few around in Canberra - I see at least two every, and that's not including the one that lives across the road. For example, I parked across from one in Woden shopping centre today, and as I walked back to the car a pre-FL vRS blue wagon crossed in front of me. I gave them the thumbs up! And then driving home I saw another Octavia and then a new Superb wagon.

You can say bad things about Canberra, but we know a good car when we see one!

I think the reason you see so many in Canberra is you are all going around and around the same roundabouts!
I'm kidding !
I will start to notice skodas much more now than I did before looking for them.
its always nice to give the other driver of a similar not so common car a knowing nod or a 'few fingers off the steering wheel wave'

From what I've heard,some RS petrol liftbacks ARE now assembled in Russia!!!

Luckily right-hand drives we get here are not Russian built

Yeah glad we have the Czec-made ones, I think they assemble them in China also. From my understanding (ie I have none, just bias) the country of manufacture has a pretty large impact on final quality...

2 weeks to go!!!! My A3 left with its new owner last night and drove from Sydney to Melbourne, I'm picking the Octavia up in Melbourne to drive to Sydney....the circle of life....or something...

i thought they only assembled the facelift octavia rs in the Mladá Boleslav & Vrchlabí plants.
mine certainly came from there

other places like ukraine, russia, bosnia, kazakhstan, china & india might have the other variants, but not the rs variant.

And hopefully, another one one the road via me. Test drove a RS TDI DSG Wagon (CW, Leather & MDI) this morning @ Lennocks. Very nice.....it would complement my GTI nicely in the garage.

After having a manual 307 HDi for 6yrs, I believe a diesel is best mated to an 'auto' after my experience on the test drive.

Now all I have to do is get financial approval from 'the treasurer'!

With only 150kms, this demo would be $46k on road. Good deal??

Not a bad deal IMO, onroad for a new-un of similar spec is over $50k. See if you can get them to throw in some extras to get you across the line.

I think the biggest advantage for you is no wait time Which is probably also the downside, because they might not move any further down on price.
