Is it available for the Skoda? I was going to get rid of it and buy a wagon but my needs have changed lately so I might stick with it for a while.

Hi Ozsko, I have a Octavia wagon 2.0 TDI, have had for 3 wks, Skoda tell me that just so long as they inspect the vehicle every year, that you can purchase and extend the factory warranty at any time before the end of the 3 rd year. I was also thinking of extending my warranty. They don't seem too concerned where it is serviced either, in BNE a 15k service is $390 at Skoda.
Hope this helps

Double check that warranty. It is possible that it's not a Skoda Australia warranty, but a Skoda dealer warranty. North Shore offered me the same warranty. It's still a good deal though.Originally posted by Illy View PostI got my 3 year extended warranty for $800. They also capped my servicing at $220.

The 4 yr factory extended warranty ( no limit of claim) from Skoda was about $2500 if memory serves me correctly and the other warranty offered was a limited claim per item offer I think was about $1800. Not overly cheap, but maybe of some assistance and peace of mind...
These prices are in BNE, don't know if other states are any cheaper.
15k service from German Autos $305, whom I've used before.

Yes, from the same cheap sources as the VW warranty. About $1400-$1500 for 3 years. There's a mileage cap IIRC - 150,000km rings a bellOriginally posted by Ozsko View PostIs it available for the Skoda? I think I'd pay $160 a year or thereabouts for RACV Total care and more than cover the towing and accommodation and rental side of things then put the rest of the money in the bank and self insure. What you seem to be doing is betting whether there is a major engine or gearbox failure during the extended warranty period and if I had to take that bet I'd want to be on VW's side.

Hmm... the insurance starts when your factory warranty runs out @ 100,000km and than the extended warranty takes over, right up to additional 3 years or when the odometer clicks 160,000km (total km the car traveled), which ever comes first.Originally posted by barrenjoey owl View PostLook here.........The VW one is 60,000 kms from the start of the policy.
