      Thanks for the details CanberravRS

Hopefully in May I can start tracking my Superb!

After taking a look at your pics, I'm definitely sure that I choose the right color. The Luxon's look great too. I might have too give some serious consideration to getting a set of them.

Can't wait for August too come around!

I already know that my next car will be another Skoda. With the benefit of experience, I will time the order to coincide nicely with the lease on the current car running out, and then add a margin of a month or two!

Oops I knew I left something else out. Thanks CanberravRS.

Definitely a Storm Blue one for this duck!

I think your right aslsw, if your prepared to plan ahead you can get yourself a Skoda that you will be very hapy with and more than happy to go Skoda again for the next time around.

That is not true at all. Not at every dealership at least. We have purchased two brand new cars in the last 18 months and both were at the dealership and PDed waiting for plates well before the funds cleared. Both cars were ordered in and were not at the dealership when we purchased them. In the case of my Skoda I never even paid a deposit and the car was sitting in the showroom registered to me before the dealership got any money at all.
The flowers and wine etc have been fairly standard in many dealerships since about the mid 1980's. Starting in about 1987 we used to send a tin of chocolate biscuits to every purchaser or new or used cars. My wife has had flowers and wine with every BMW and Audi she has purchased since 1990 at least.

Let's be blunt and identify Bayford as the culprit. That is exactly the procedure they follow AND they've been sitting on my $1,000 deposit since July. They have had my number plates for a month, and my money since Thursday. PD, rego and towbar happened yesterday but only because the finance company rang to say the funds were forthcoming so they ordered the vehicle from the holding yard early on a promise. To be fair, I wouldn't want the rego done until the last minute, but as you say, the other stuff should be done the moment it arrives - you would think they were keen to get it back out the door. If we're lucky, Monday will be the day.

The dealer that I ordered my Superb through made the comment that they had a customer in a similar situation to you SkodaK but they canceled their order in early January as they couldn't wait upon the Panoramic roof any longer.

So hopefully for you the wait will be worth it and you get great enjoyment out of your Skoda. All the best for Monday being the day you take delivery!

The wait is over. Collected the car late today. I have a feeling it's gonna take me a while to suss out how to use everything.

First question, how do you change the time in the display in the middle of the instrument binnacle?

                      Indicator lever controls.
Stop the car (neutral) hold the button on the bottom of the indicator stalk for 2 seconds then when it enters the setup menus navigate up and down using the end of the stalk and use the button underneath as the enter key.
Next tell the dealer what you think of crap PD. If they can't get the time right what are the tyre pressures or oil level like?

I know whoever supplies europcar down here in Vic delivered a brand spanker to them that I copped with almost below min oil that soon caused the oil light to come on.

Another question, relating to the Columbus unit.

The RS I test drove was an MY10 with the Bolero unit fitted, and I was pretty impressed with the sound quality. My car has the Columbus unit, and the sound quality doesn't seem quite as good as I remember the Bolero sounding. Although it was 6 months ago that I test drove the MY10.

Does anyone know if the Bolero and Columbus have the same processors, amp, speakers etc, and only differ in the satnav, or if they are completely different units?

Hmm, you could ask at the VW Car Audio and Electronics maybe some one who is more into the car audio will know the differences.

I doubt whether the Bolero and Columbus are the same internally but I'd at least have a got at playing with things like the bass and treble. Based on your experiences so far you may find some strange settings although to be fair I don't think most dealerships do anything other than set a standard selection or radio stations if they do anything at all to the radio.

I'll swap you a Bolero for a Columbus if you want.

Thanks for the generous offer, but I'll stick with the Columbus

I had a fiddle with bass and treble etc, though I don't think there's much else to adjust when it comes to sound quality. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't sound bad, just not as good as I remember the Bolero sounding.
