  • I'm insulted

Just got an email from VW Australia telling me how wonderful their cars are and how many awards they have won.
    Not a peep from Skoda.
The worst part is that VW must have got my email address from Skoda in the first place!

Do not know why Skoda did not win any award with Australias best cars?
VW Jetta 103TDI did win, is it really better than a Skoda Octavia TDI?

Skoda probably put thier money into developing their group in Australia rather than paying off Auto groups to give their car awards.

None of these awards are of value anyway, the only one i find valid is the World Car of the Year awards.
They claim the TDI Tiguan is the best all round SUV but i much prefer my petrol version with similar fuel consumption.

Kinda equal but with the Octavia's better equipment and bigger/more accessible boot. Superb wagon did win the large category however (which says more to me, esapecially in an Australian-built league) .

I still don't understand how the Jetta had more equipment for the same money, or were they leaving out another few thousand for a pack that was added on. We don't get front and rear sensors in the same Octy....so why do they cost the same.

Yeah, but with the Jetta you pay up front for all the extras, with the Octavia you get them thrown in for free, if you bargain hard. VW prices are pretty much fixed, Skoda are very flexible just to make a sale.

Yeah, I'd be insulted if Skoda never contacted/followed up me as an owner.

2years & 5 months ownership & Skoda have never contacted me unless I contacted them first. If nothing else, I would have thought either the dealership or Skoda would have been in touch when the lease was getting close to the end last july
