Yep just use water next time, they all seem to have the coolant level just above min, I guess to allow for expansion in summer. Mine had no further drops so was probably an airpocket. The coolant comes very concentrated from the factory so any little topups as a once off are fine.

There is 7.7 litres in the cooling system. Topping up with water probably 1/2 litre in an emergency for a day or so isn't going to cause any irreparable damage or I doubt any reason to invalidate the warranty.

I wouldn't get too worried. My mechanic, who is European Mercedes Benz factory trained, says there is no problem replacing the red G11/12 liquid etc with the ordinary green coolant at least in my mark III Golf. I've been running a motor with 350,000 + km on green coolant for 3 years now with no problems. He says simply "It makes no difference". Not sure if you can mix them though. Don't imagine it would be catastrophic.

Had warning light issues my 2010 vrs. I had the warning light come on a couple of times. First the dealer suggested it was a theromsat gasket. they fixed. Light came on again, so next visit they changed the water pump and a pipe. Hopefuly that fixes it for good. Seems to be a common issue.

Both mine and my parent's are both on low right now

Mine was re-filled at the dealer for free, but has dropped back to low and sits there happily.

Anyone know how much the G12+ costs from the dealer? I'd rather just buy some than have to keep going back to re-fill.

Well aware that I can use distilled, but if it's not too expensive i'll just get G12+
