Have Skoda changed this and made a Bluetooth kit available. If so can you give me details on what it does and costs? I am looking at getting it on a Octavia with a multifunction wheel/dsg.

Had my Fiscon Basic Plus installed into my vRS last week, wasnt cheap, but I was after the "intergration" with the Bolero and I have to say I think it was worth it!
Aparently its a very tight fit behind the radio.
Switched on my Blackberry Bold 9700 and it pretty much connected straight away. Within a few seconds my address book was there.
They installed the special mic that goes on the roof near the interior light. Audio quality both ways is superb.
Radio etc mutes just before a call starts and unmutes itself.
Menu system is simple to use and displays different types of numbers very well (home vs work vs mobile etc) and it has programable 1-touch quickdials.

Only thing is I'm yet to find a manual for it !
I'm thinking its also meant to do something on the smaller dash-display (it doesnt), but not sure.

I have a PDF user manual I got online from Fiscon. Ask Google and if you have no luck PM me an email address and I will send it to you.
You can set up the Maxidot display (the one between the speedo and tacho) to show call numbers and you can even use it to select numbers to ring using the wiper stalk controls. By default it's off but if you go into the Maxidot set up menu it's easy to activate. With the Bolero I found it fairly useless so I never bother with it. I would be ok if you just had a dumb radio.
One thing it took me a few times to work out. When you are actually speaking on a call the Bolero volume control adjusts the call volume independent of the radio volume.

          Hi All,

I have just installed the new VW/Skoda/Seat 9W7 bluetooth kit on my Skoda Superb Wagon. Part number7P6 035 730 C

The unit comes with the wiring loom and is a snap to install.

I did a lot of research and even got my Uncle in Poland to go to the place i purchased it from to make sure it was legit.

It cost me $450 delivered to my door in OZ with priority post and a delay of only six days.

The company operates on an Ebay store and is very professional.

If you let them know what car/headunit(columbus)and steering wheel you have they will precode it to work staright away.

All you then have to do is use VCDS to turn it on within the cars canbus.

My iphone4 and wife blackberry torch works without hiccup and voice control works well. telephone book update straight away and give you all the call lists and data in the MFD. you can also control it via the navs touch screen.

Please see the link below to the item in their ebay store.

It is even easier if you have a MY11 car with the Nav as their is already the mic fr voice control in the centre roof consol which means less install time.

Guys i am happy to help if you need to knoe more details!

Yeah have to agree.. It should have Bluetooth and Ipod control as standard considering most other cars do come with it these days.
The fact that the option on a standard car with MDI and Bluetooth almost adds 1k on the price is quite bas as well.
As for me i have just ordered online a Dension Gateway 5 for my Octy (GWF1V21). From what i have read about it, it pretty much does all the same features as the Fiscon (integration with Bolero and Columbus) PLUS has MDI functionality (both Ipod and USB).
However Dension dont support it on the Skoda as it hasnt been tested, but in theory the MY10 and MY11 models (facelift) had the BAP CAN bus which this unit is designed for. Should get it in the next week or so and will post my results.
Oh BTW, The Dension kit from car-solutions cost me approx 340 AUD Delivered.. A lot cheaper than fiscon/MDI!

the denison is compatible with "red" mfd, not the "white" maxidot display, as is in the skoda, hence why its not supported.
let us know though, if it worked.

the fiscon, though more expensive, does actually integrate with the mfd (maxidot).

They do have the same iPod control that most cars advertise as standard. The 3.5mm Aux port in the centre console is exactly the same as the vast majority of cars you see advertised on TV that have a nice iPod in the hands of a passenger and the words "iPod control" on the screen.
Some but a much smaller number have a standard USB input which imo would be a way better thing than the MDI which is only USB by another name and a hugley inflated price anyway.
