RS 169 or 245 any opinions?

Drove a 245 recently and compared to my 162, the power delivery was smoother and more tractable. Not sure if it was the 7 speed box compared to my 6 speed 162 or the extra power but it was a definite step up. Also drove a 206 superb which was smoother again.

i agree that the 245 felt more trackable, like it was larger capacity, so I think it must have a little more boost, the 169 felt more rev happy. The first time I nailed it, the 169, just flew to the limiter. Both cars had done low Ks, the 169, had only done 24kms, which surprised me because it felt looser. Both were very smooth, 245 went through the gears faster, which would be the extra ratio it had to play with.

So, I'm now on the hunt for the new ride, the hope is I find something in the next couple of weeks. We've sold the Jetta but still have the use of it until we find a new car (sold it to my nephew as his first car). Is anyone els a bit disappointed that you can't get full leather trim? My grotty kids are going to screw up that lovely Alcantara in now time, the back up plan is to get custom leather trim if it ends up too grubby.

Next Q, what is the opinion on what the going rate on these are? I really want to spend mid $40Ks. Need to be fully optioned, i have an eye on resale value.

Finding it hard to get a good deal at the moment. I've got a Green RS169 fully optioned @ $48k. Or a Red fully optioned RS245 @ $49,967, they just don't want to budge on price, maybe I'll just need to wait it out for a while. What do you guys reckon about those two deals?

I paid $XX K for a RS230 Dec 2016, Steel Grey, Tech pack, 19' Black pack, Manual, Auto Boot.

Forgot to mention that the 245 is a demo with 2,000km on it and it's from the Gold Coast. They will give it 12 months nsw rego as well, If I can get it at $49 even, I may go for it.

Only $180 installed including resonator 15" 2.5" in and out stainless.

Good cheap way to get some sound but not alot of sound.

Picked and purchased!!!!

Just did a good deal on a Rallye Green RS169, fully optioned. They're sending through the paper work now!! The car is coming from Orange NSW, price was delivered to me, so pretty happy.
I'm I disappointed that I didn't get the 245?? There is a little bit of remorse, but it was $3K more and had a couple of thousand kms on it. The money I saved will go into a Superskoda order and the resonator mod, I may do PPF as well, our last car copped a lot of little scratched and scraps from my grotty kids, So may look at doing the front, bonnet and doors.

With a little luck, may have it by the weekend!!!

Nice one mate, If your not modding it much, you'll never know it doesn't have the LSD. You can turn the XDL to a higher setting with a VCDS/OBDeleven, it just uses the brakes more to help rotate the car.

+1 for PPF mate, I spent over $2500 on: Front bumper, Head Lights, Fog Lights, Full Bonnet, Full Front Guards, Door Cups, Door Handles (just the out facing surface), B & C pillars (Black parts), Side Skirts, Bottom of doors, Door Edges, Mirrors backs, Top of windscreen/roof, A pillars.

Congrats you will love it. I couldn’t justify the additional 5k for the green on the deal we got but I wish we did grab the green. It’s a awesome colour.

Really looking forward to it. I've had a bit more time to think about it and I'm not going to be tracking this, it's a family car first and my wife if going to be driving it 60% of the time. So the LSD and extra power aren't high on the list of priorities. Besides the Green looks pretty sweet!

yeah I am in the same boat family transporter that the missus drives, mods for ours are centre res, tint, OBD eleven tweaks, Golf GTE intake mods.

IMO its not a track car but capable of doing it
