  • Fabia RS Track Project Thread

So I picked myself up a 2012 Fabia RS pretty cheap. Rallye Green, 47k, full Skoda service history. Besides the damage, its otherwise immaculate and well looked after.

It's had a hit in the side and was written off. I'm turning it into a track car that I'll tow with my Octavia RS.

Anyway, this is my SLOW build thread of what ill be doing to it.

Happy for some input, if anyone needs parts that I'm removing - Feel free to PM me. But please don't PM me asking for bits - unless its interior bits, its mostly all going - except the seats and steering wheel and dash.

Lets start with what I have got myself into:

Turns out you can fit both replacement doors and front guard into the boot!

And here is a few hours work of removing stuff. Not as easy as you'd think. I'm trying not to damage things in case they are useful to someone. Anyone want a Swing radio? a deployed airbag or two? a few un-deployed airbags?

And while I was bored, I installed new shoes. Slightly lighter per corner, and 0.5" wider.

Found about 40-50kg of dead weight in the back of the car. Weights and crash bar has been removed.

              Thanks guys.

The hardest thing will be getting mods. But I'm pretty lucky I know someone that has half the mods I already want to do

I'd be interested to know what the weight difference is after removing all the bits and bobs!

Damn, I should have weighed the car before I started removing.

was supposed to be removing more this weekend, but I 'have' to go away with the wife

I like the new wheels. They should do the trick for now.

OK, car has been received back after being repaired! all doors open and close and windows go up and down.

time to start the weight removal mods. thinking of replacing all the glass with plexi - except the windscreen and possibly the tailgate.

suspension mods to come soon - depending on the money situation
