Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Something we can never have...

    The new Ibiza.

    Unless they decide to bring it to Australia, this is as close as you may get.

    Very Nice...

    If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

      As if you can no longer get the Cupra! the sportiest one on that list is a 1.6 16v! bring back the 1.8T 20V and to hell with the fumes!

            Organic? Please explain, Branko. I'm looking at manufactured steel, glass, rubber etc ... not getting an "organic" feeling at all.

              The colour for one is an organic one, aspects of it's design such as the flowing lines, the angles and all the shapes coming together rather than trying to separate components of the car. Its a bit vague I know but it reminds me alot of the new Mazda concepts which use Japanese design principles derived from nature to model the car. Like the old car looked a bit like a dolphin, organic. Vs say a Toyota camry which was modeled after a refrigerator

              There are a few other organic looking cars like the Alfa's and the Mazda's again. I like organic if you havn't already noticed. The colour of my car is a very dark metallic ferny green and its quite relaxing when you look at it.

                Hahahahahaha...Glass, Steel and Rubber are all manufactured from byproducts mined from the ground...Silica=Glass.
                Oil=Rubber
                Ore=Steel

                These may be classed as organic... Sorry, I'm just being a smart arse!!

                  Yep ... smartarse who has got it wrong!! What living (organic) creature did steel come from? I'll grant you rubber ... but most tyres have a high level of synthetics in them now. Silica?? Sand, right? So ... are we talking ground up sea shells? I think not.

                  By the way ... Ore does NOT = organic. Any more than aluminium or any other metal ... they are generally a mixture of ELEMENTS ... not organics.
