  • Seat Ibiza Gti - Ready to mod

    Hi guys,

I'm just putting together a list of parts I should put to my GTi, I want to get the most out of this brilliant car.

I am still on my Probationary Licence, so engine modifications are not an option at this point in time.

Here is what I have on my list so far:

    Brembo Brakes - $1200
Brembo SEAT | Euro Car Parts UK

    Lightweight Flywheel -

    Headlights Angel Eyes - ?
Anyone know of any decent headlights? I can't seem to find any!

    Projector Fog Lights - $49
Auto Platonium :: Lighting :: Projector Fog/Driving Lights

    Rims

    Springs - $75
Seat Buy suspension from Eibach including adjustable suspension and automotive coil springs.

    Mk3 Cupra Cat-Back Exhaust system - $380
Awesome - Milltek cat-back exhaust for Ibiza Mk3 Cupra Sport 1.8T

    Red stitch Boot - $15
VW GOLF MK3 JETTA SHIFT BOOT BLACK LEATHER RED STITCH | eBay

    GTI Badge - $15
Awesome - Golf GTI "Red I" Rear Badge

What do you guys think? Is there anything else I should look into or change?

    Nice list...

Hi highly recommend the springs for sure. I just got these fitted to my Ibiza... you cant go wrong at that price.

Rims... See if you can contact Lewis (Username LWR) on this site if you are interested in some Euro style wheels. I got my Remotecs from him. Brilliant.

You might want to confirm the AUD$ amounts of the brakes and the badge those site are listing the price in GBP (Pounds). You will ned to multiply those amounts by roughly 1.6 and add shipping.

yeh, those brakes are gonna set you back $2000 + shipping, so you will be looking at approx $2500.

Why not just upgrade to a set of drilled/slotted rotors, paint up your callipers and put some decent pads in (Hawks, EBC, etc). This option will cost a fraction of the Brembo setup but will still look pretty sweet and stop better than the standard setup. You can then use the savings to fund the other options on your list.

Also the exhaust is in GBP, so this will be $610 + shipping.

Not by any chance you can post a picture of those rims on your ibiza assuming you drive one?

I did find I nice set of headlights, I jumped on photoshop and played about. This is what I came up with.

        I agree with the brakes.

I assume that price is over $1000 before the delivery charge, therefore you may get stung for Import Duty (5%) and GST (%10). This would mean extra $225 would be payable at Customs. I would try and keep the total price before delivery to less than a grand.

Good looking wheel though, and would suit the Ibiza. Personally, I'm not a fan of the red stripe around the edge.

Welcome mate. Good to see you are keen to mod your Ibiza.

                    - Id suggest doing the basic first: good service, polish wax, vaccum and a stereo.

Then save your $$$ for some coilovers, having coilovers means you can adjust the height very easily and they are good for improved handling.

Wheels id suggest noting going any bigger than 17" as it will dramitically change the way the cars handles. 15" or 16" wheels are the best IMO for the Ibiza/Mk3 platform. Then dont forget to spend some $$$$ on a good set of tyres. Remember to also get a wheel allingment at the same time.

Roadworthy first mate, the exhaust had quite a rattle to it, so fixing that was first on the list.

Coilovers will come, I just need to find a set for the right price first.

16" is the size I'm going for, I don't want to **** the ride up with 17's. I had issues with wheel alignment on my previous car. Lesson learn't, I'll be sure to get one done for the Ibiza.

She goes for the roadworthy tomorrow, I shall post it's result!

If all goes well, a new coat of paint will be applied!

                      Cheers

                        Hey guys!

                        She failed

The head gasket has quite a leak, rear control arm bushings are screwed and I need new disks all round.

If anyone is selling a pair of VR6 disks in Melbourne please, let me know! Also, are the bushing from another VAG car? I'm assuming I might have difficulty if I ask bushings for a Seat.

One week to get it road worthy!

Your car is 4x100 and a VR6 is 5 stud.

Ring up RDA/EBC they have your rotors in stock. (Im pretty sure they are the same as 2ltr MK3 Golf)

Head gasket isnt a small job so while the head is off maybe a good time to do valve stem seals, light port and polish etc.

For rear suspension bushes they could be the same as Mk3 or give Matt @ Camden GTI a call.

                            Hi there,

I checked it over and it seems like it's just a rocker cover gasket, so I spoke with Matt and he sorted me out with a gasket and new control arms! Express post too, he was really helpful.

I might do a port and polish, not sure if it's worth the effort though...

Guess what came in the mail!

I also took the bumper guards off, I'll hopefully be smoothing that off and painting it this week!
