Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Ibiza 95 GTI
I am sure that Matthew would concede that there are exceptions to his price range for 95 GTI’s. Such as mine with a shiny new coil fitted yesterday, 4 beautiful new Marangoni Versos and less than 120K on the clock.
‘Only expressway driving, and never in the rain’ as they say. Well, not quite, but I always drive it gently until it warms up and then I give it a good bit of welly when I can. Seems to enjoy those big hills south of Canberra where you can give it a few seconds of full throttle without breaking too many rules.
The dashboard, with the unique ‘elephant’s scrotum’ texture, is in better condition than my own skin, though that is not saying much.
On the latest measured country run, from Jindabyne to Coogee at full speed with the aircon on, it did 6.2 litres per 100km on a tank that was 75% X 91RON & 25% X 95RON. (Seems so happy on the 91, I honestly can’t tell the difference.)
It is still so much fun that I’m not a keen seller but I am happy to notify the list when I am. I’ll even let Matthew set a fair price, so long as he doesn’t take money off for the grill surround that pops out a bit (and we won’t say who fitted that).
I should keep quiet or else some rotter will steal it, and it aint insured for theft.

Hey guys,
If anyone is after a 1999 2.0L 16V Cupra mine is for sale and if you check out the eBay section of this forum you will see someone has kindly mentioned my car!
They are awesome cars and a great first car in my opinion (even though it was my third car!)
Its in Canberra, so if anyone wants a test drive or have a look at it let me know.

I am just about to advertise mine, well run in with 230000Ks on it
Bought from Golfloon 3 years ago. I have driven it almost daily since then. Had a battery and coil last year. I did the cambelt and alternator belts the other week. New plugs too. The oil was done 2 months ago.
I'll be putting 3 months SA rego on it over the weekend.
It has 16inch wheels with good tyres on. I lost a centre cap though,so took the other 3 off to match.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow. I am going to park it on the main road near me, as I have had good success selling cars from there in the past.
I'll advertise it for $3800
