  • Interested in buying a 1995 SEAT ibiza GTI

    Hi guys,

I am interested in buying a 1995-1996 SEAT Ibiza GTI if I can find one. They seem to be a fun hatch to drive from what I've read on forums.

Is $4000 - $5500 a reasonable price or do they cost more ? What should I look out for ? SEAT doesn't exist in Australia anymore so will spare parts be a problem ? Are there any car repair/service shops specialising in SEAT cars in VIC ?

Thats the best model IMO and the most fun to drive.

Mechanically its the same as a 2L Mk3 Golf, so those parts wont be a problem.

Anything SEAT specific I will have.

    $3500-$5000max I reckon.

They are great cars, get one.

1000 Ibizas, 1.4s and 2Ls, I reckon maybe 400 GTIs and 600 1.4, but no records distinguishing them were kept

54 Cupras, they are all 1998/99 model 16vs.

Oh I didn't realise only 1000 Ibizas were sold. No wonder SEAT shut up shops in Australia.

                    1000 Ibizas
                    2000 Cordobas
                    and 300 Toledos.

They were badly marketed at the time and too expensive.
                    Much like Skoda now.........

Rather than start a new thread I'll continue with this one
My 18 year old daughter is in the market for a first car and wants something out of the ordinary. Originally she was going to take over my 1984 Lancia, but I'm thinking something a little newer, safer and more reliable might be a better idea. I thought of Seat mainly because I'm so impressed with my Skoda. I like the look of this onethis one and also http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...cs=5&silo=1011although the KM's are a bit high. There's also http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...cs=5&silo=1011 but I think the Ibeza would be a nicer car. Any thoughts or advice?

The Ibiza GTI might be a bargain if looked after and well serviced. Thay are getting old so can have done the ks. Better to get one that has had everything changed than a tired original one IMO.
Plus you can haggle hard if it has high ks

                            95 Ibiza

I have just taken the plunge and bought an Ibiza GTI as a second car. The car I bought seems a very honest 86K vehicle. Can anyone give me some ideas on quick performance upgrades and where to get the car serviced that won't break the bank. Very happy with the purchase and quite excited about having a car I can tinker with again !!

Sounds like one of the ones I was considering-is it white? Looked like a good buy.
