Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Two flat spots in my Audi A3 Quattro V6 3.2 2008

    Hi All,

I have had this issue since I bought the car second hand a couple of years ago that there are two flat spots. One at 1500 rpm and the other at 2500 rpm.

It doesn't appear to be gear box related as it happens in Park. Have been to a number of mechanics and Audi Specialists and no one can give me the same or definite answer of what is wrong.

You read it was a possible software issue but I have been back to Audi and made sure I had the latest software installed and the diagnostic reports no faults.

This does appear to be a common issue from what I have read but can't seem to find the answer to solve it. Has anyone experienced this and resolved it?

I have taken a video showing the issue and attached link to it.

    Cheers

    First off v6 quattro a3...awesome.

Secondly have you had a chat to Jimmy (username - Jmac) his garage is called Alba European he's in Brisbane and should be able to figure it out.
Can't really tell what's going on from the video but could be something to do with air/fuel...fuel pump/regulator? or metering too much air?

Don't really know. Who have you taken it to already?
