S3 8L not shifting smoothly at all plus fueling issue...?

I've owned my S3 2002 since June and its been getting progressively worse.

Going from first to second and second to third the car will kind of shunt into the next gear unless i rev up into the next gear, pull out the clutch extremely slowly or i'm hammering it and shift as quickly as possible(which I don't really want to do)

I feel that the revs are dying really quickly during gear changes but can't be sure as I've nothing to compare it to and haven't driven an S3 before.

I've heard the dogbone powerflex upgrade might help but I can't tell. Anyone experienced the same?

Also should probably mention that the car is using a hell of a lot of fuel and will stutter around 4k when I've got my foot to the floor but only in second and third not in first (haven't tried in 4th or up due to everyones friend the national speed limit)
this only happens from a standing start as in if i downshift to 2nd and put my foot down it goes with no issues at all but if i go hard through first then into second it occurs.

Basically just looking for advice or if anyone has experienced the same, should I go ahead and do the dogbone anyway and see how it goes?

any thoughts on the stuttering?

i should add i've had coil packs replaced
and taken it to the garage three times and they have said minor boost leak and replaced a hose or two.

issue is still there

No tomorrow is good for me. 1830 at the Maccas near the International terminal. I start at 7 but can be a bit late getting in as I am the gaffer Silver S3.

So after the "me being the gaffer" comment, it turns out the Australia and Asia Pacific managers are coming to present a new contract to us tomorrow night at 630. So can you make it 6 instead?

So after meeting Gav at the airport and scanning the car. The EGT sensor kept coming up as a fault. Also he gave me a chance to drive his and now I'm desperate to get mine to stage 2

Had a good look this morning. Sensor looked fine followed the wire no splitting or anything. Got to the front next to the dipstick took off the black cover and the bloody plug wasn't plugged in. So plugged it it. Warmed the car up put my foot down and everything is fine again.

So now that it's sorted hoping to get my brakes done next month then get started on some performance stuff.

Ha. Definitly a 6 pack for you next time I see you! Saved me a bunch.
Yep more linear on the power a little more punch when downshifting but still not overly powerful but that's to be expected when it's stock.

still making a funny noise when holding revs between 2-3k like a small air discharge or something. Strange one. Due a service now anyway so gonna get the faults scanned again and go from there.

Also this recent rain has proved to me how bloody awful my tyres are (already knew that)

so looking at a new set. Any advice so far my shortlist is Khumo Exsta's and Continental contisport 5

Not sure on the pricing but the Bridgestone Adrenaline Re002 on my Polo have been outstanding. On my S3 I have some Maxxis MA V1 up front and another pair of Maxxis on the back. These have been pretty good in the wet too.
