After having a couple of recent dramas with our B5 wagon, I thought I'd let you in on them. After doing a few 100km one weekend, the following morning, the driveshaft "fell" out of the left CV while my wife was at the shops. SO I fixed that in the street. Luckily I had a spare boot at home.


Then a week later, it is banging into reverse. Again after doing another few 100 the day before??
The internet suggested that there could be a bad O ring that controls how reverse is fed in.
And behold, when I dropped the oil pan I found the missing piece of this clip.

Hoping Jimmy's gearbox man can help me out tomorrow.
