Probably a month or two away, the block needs to be bored and balanced and the mechanic is making a custom twin intake

going with f23 in the end! looking good, watching with interest!
Is it custom DNA tune for the AGU? Do you know what size maf you're going with?
Can't imagine it'll be the stock size maf since they max out at around 187 g/sec.
maybe try VR6 maf, AGU element is a straight plug in.
I'm looking into going BT as soon as i finish the house, I'll see how you go with this tune but I'll either go with this or Unitrinic BT440 tune & gt28. Good luck with the build, all the best!

yeah it gonna be a custom tune with a lot of data logging and will be using a 3" maf
big turbo would be nice but I didnt think I could afford the additional cost for the extra plumbing and the aftermarket tune, traction would be an issue as well maybe in the future

                Engine out

Head mechanic Paul made a sweet table with wheels to make working on the engine easier

I didn't see any picture of the Mahle pistons. Are you using the Powerpack 4032 alloy that comes with the slipper skirts?

If yes, you will very likely have clearance issues with the oil squirters.

There is a picture of the pistons with the rods either way will get better picture of it..... Will check out the slipper skirts, I got everything from ina engineering through Tpr and plenty of mk4 Gti owners have used same parts

You sourced your stuff through INA? Just wondering how much did you pay for the Mahle powerpack pistons?
