Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Not at all, the polo has a longer body and sits nicely if you do a comparison with a polo/A1 there is a substantial difference.

Reference would be a Mini with an A1.

Also, why is this here? this is the Polo 6R subsection further more a Volkswagen forum...not the OZ Audi forums :/

i was really looking forward to the A1...

seen a few on the road, and i have to say that i think they look crap in the flesh.

who needs all that ghey isht (keyless go, auto rain sensing wipers, heated massage seats, bluetooth wifi hubble space telescope compatibility, fck you're dumb so i'll turn on the lights for you when it gets dark auto headlights etc etc) on a supermini?

on a family car, sure.... but a supermini?

Guys, do think the A1 Sportback Sport is worth extra $14,000 than the equivalent 5 door Polo GTI?

Missed the discussion on keyless start and go before. I actually thought that was a great safety feature.

For my wife at least. She didn't have to fumble for her keys in her handbag. That means she can be more aware of her surroundings. I notice some women can become very distracted when they start hunting for the keys.

And you only ever unlock the door when you reach the car. And not before.

Or maybe I watch too many serial killer movies and tv shows

            Sorry but it's an Audi.

You don't walk into an Audi Dealership with depreciation on your mind. You walk into Audi because you want the premium brand and quality. If you're thinking about depreciation then sorry buddy but you're buying the wrong car. I change my Audi every 3 years (Corp Package) and I honestly couldn't care less how much I lose because... wait for it... here it comes... "It's an Audi."

My Audi A1 Ambition with Extras cost me $38,500 and I'm now selling it for $16,500.

Oh and my new S1 arrives in Feb and yes I paid $62,000 for it
Oh and yes that is Golf R Money but everyone has one and it's not special anymore.

^ the S1 is cool and i haven't seen one on the road yet. The A1 Sport or whatever it was called is also a rare sight, although they were plagued with that rubbish 1.4 twincharge engine and equally rubbish 7 speed DSG.

At least the S1 is available in manual and with the good 2.0T engine.
