Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Previous model Q5/SQ5 adaptive cruise - includes stop & go ?

Per the subject, I'm interested in a previous model SQ5 (or maybe Q5), and I'm struggling a bit to determine if the active cruise control includes stop & go.

And since they're in roughly the same market, same question for the BMW X3 F25 if anyone happens to know (though finding one with active cruise optioned at all seems difficult).

    Thanks.

Can you clarify what you mean by stop and go?
Do you mean engine start stop? This is a different function to the adaptive CC for the SQ5.
Do you mean if you have your cc on then come to a complete stop will the car start accelerating again?
The SQ5 adaptive CC only Works between 30kmph and 200kmph

      Thanks for replying,

Yes I did mean the active CC taking the car down to a full stop, and then starting back up again when the car in front moved.

I ended up just taking one for a test drive and trying it out.

I have a 2015 SQ5 with the optional radar cruise control - i have have never tried it to bring the car to a complete stop, but i do not believe the car has the ability to do it anyway.

I only ever use the cruise on the freeway and even then half the time you cannot use it because of so many bad drivers.
