Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    RNS510 DAB query

    HI everyone,
    I have just updated firmware (523 on my unit, as well as having just applied the V8 maps update - all working well.
    I was wondering what it would take to enable DAB (or is it DAB+) on the unit ?

    The later units are the only ones with DAB as it requires a different mother board What revision is yours B,C,D etc. If it didnt have it on the old firmware you wont be able to get it unless you buy a new unit

      I am not sure which revision you're asking about but below are some of the Version info:
      HW-Version = H52
      SW-Version = 5238
      SV SW-Version C_EU_13.236_t3
      HW Vehicle = 0xC801
      Bootloader Radio SW_DNL141T
      HW DAB = 255
      SW DAB = NOTAVAILABLE

      Would you mind letting me know how to find the Revision you speak of please, thanks in advance

        It's not the revision that's important here it's the lack of dab main board
        Hw dab= 255 which is 0xFF in hex which means does not exist in this context.

            It's not possible to retrofit just the dab tuner you need a whole new RNS unit
