Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Coasting mode ?

    Hi fellow enthusiasts.
My 2015 Jetta Highline Owner's Manual talks about Coasting Mode being able to be selected for DSG gearboxes in the "settings menu".
I don't see it on mine . Anyone have it on theirs?
Maybe not for our market ? Just mentioned in generic manual ?

I was looking for that as well and couldn't find it. Bought my Jetta Comfortline 4 weeks ago. I think it may be for the Highline model. Will check with the dealer at service in 2 days and get back to you.

Highline model, 6 speed DSG only. MFD- Settings - Coasting with a box next to it, ticked or unticked. Self explanatory.

I'm sorry, the brevity of your answer did not make that clear. I assumed you were saying your Jetta was a six speed DSG Highline and had the feature enabled, not that was the only spec that had the option.

Ahhh, nope sorry mate, I don't have a Jetta, but only the 6 speed DSG models have the coasting function, in my opinion it's a really crappy option anyway...

Mine is a 2016 6 speed DSG TDI Higline.
Local VW Service manager tells me the coast mode not applicable on this model (in Australia)
scroled down settings and found no "coast" with a box to tick or clear
