Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Jetta Tyre Pressure?

    Hi all
My new secondhand 2015 Jetta 103TDI with 225/45/17 tyres has tyre pressure placarded at 2.8 bars front/3.0 bars rear
    (40.5 and
    43.5 psi approx.)
Anyone with similar vehicle care to comment as to what they've come up with as a good tyre pressure to use?
    Thanks in anticipation

38psi should be fine front and rear.

      Thanks opel
My first check if tyre pressure showed it had 32 psi all round when I picked it up from the dealer-therefore my concern .
      trying 38 all round now

I checked with the dealer when I picked mine up and he suggested 36 all round.

I've now done 17000 Kms and the wear is fairly even, ride ok, and traction ok. I see no reason to change, although I do go 38 front/ 40 rear for a trip.
