A question for those who have done this upgrade - how does the rear legroom compare between the models?

Our 07 Jetta 147TFSI is a bit squeezy for us as a family hack. With me at 2m tall in the front there isn't much room behind me for my growing 6yo. We need something with more legroom in the back when the front seats are set back. Tried a Passat today but weirdly it had LESS legroom than our current Jetta due to the need to have the seat so far back to get around the Passat's dash. The dealer we went to didn't have a Jetta for us to test out ...

I just compared the MK5 to MK6 that I've got and it is pretty much the same. How about a Tiguan?
