I feel like a little kid the night before Christmas! I've currently got a 2010 Jetta 147TSI with sports pack in reflex silver. It has been a fantastic car. My novated lease was coming to an end and looking to save some money I had a look at the 118TSI comfortline to change to. I was very disappointed comparing it to my 2010 147TSI. I found the inside lacking the quality finishes and the seats seemed cheap compared the the sports seats in my current model. I then cast my eye on the current 147TSI Highline in black black pearl with beige leather and sports pack. I love the black 17 inch alloys. I found one at a price that compared the the comfortline on a new lease is only about $16 a fortnight more. How can I say no to that! So pretty soon I will be the new owner of a 2013 Jetta 147TSI Highline. My only concern is the beige leather. Can anyone give me any feedback? Does it change colour with time and show marks easily? What do you current owners love/hate about it?

Yeah the 147TSI Highline with Sports Pack is a good choice! I saw one in black yesterday that was ready for delivery and it looked sweet. Black leather though...I am sure if you treat the leather right, it should look good for ages!MY18 VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg Edition + Panoramic Sunroof + some extra goodies... (Pure White)

Several years ago I had a black Alfa Romeo 147 hatch with tan leather. I didn't have any problem with that either, but like yourself Hillbilly I cleaned in regularly.
Love the photos of your car DoggiesUtd. The 147 sure is a great ride. Glad I'm staying within the same vehicle and just upgrading. Although I still will really miss the old girl when she gets traded in.
Do any of you know what the differences between the MY13 and MY13.5 builds are if any? I ended up getting the aluminium sports pedals thrown on too.

As long as you look after the leather and use a good leather cleaner/conditioner combo you should be sorted..2011 V-DUB Jetta 147 TSI Highline

Upgrading from MK5 147TSI to current model
Collected the car late last week. Drove it home and saw the rego label says it's a 2012 model. The ad on carpoint lists it as a 2013 model and all the paperwork I completed refers to a 2013 vehicle. The compliance plate it 03/13 and build 09/12. I've been assured by VW that it is a 2013. Does this mean it is incorrectly registered? Otherwise I don't see how they can advertise it as a 2013 and deliver a 2012. That appears to me as misleading.

It maybe complied in 2013, registered in 2013 and warranty start in 2013, however is still a 2012 built car.
When you go to sell it, it will still be a 2012 built car to the next person...MY18 VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg Edition + Panoramic Sunroof + some extra goodies... (Pure White)

Upgrading from MK5 147TSI to current model
Generally cars built in September are considered the following year model car specification wise, so it is a MY2012 car with 2013 model specifications. Confusing!
You will have 2013 model upgrades over the 2012 model, but not the refresh 13.5 specs.
Sales speak sells new cars on model year rather than when it was born.\( O ) o\====(\X/)=TDI=/o ( O )/ 2011 Jetta Mk5 125TDI - Squidly

Was a thread on here some time ago and was plenty of argument Some said it was build date some said it was compliance date.
Gigitt is correct as far as I know If its build date is before DEC 31 2012 its a 2012 no matter how the salesman tries to worm out of it.
Our Polo is a Nov build and it has improvements???????? over the original which started in May of the same year. We bought it in January
and it has the previous year as the model.
We knew that when we bought it as it was in the country in DEC and we didnt want it till mid Jan2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

I'm really happy with the car. What annoys me is that I saw advertisements for new 2012 models which I didn't look at because I was specifically looking for a 2013. I just feel cheated that every year date referred to is 2013 on the ad and the paperwork and then I get one that is 2012. I consider that a false and misleading representation of a product under consumer law.

One said it was the build date, the other said it was compliance date.
So there you are.
I would agree with your thoughts re advertising discrepancy
If the build date was after September and before the 13.5 it would be the same anyway but value in the future could be affected2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

Lets just say you bought a Holden Cruze (Australian Made).
I was built 12/2012 and Complied 12/2012. That makes it a 2012 car.
If it was built 12/2012 but complied 01/2013 (due to Xmas Holidays) is would still be a 2012 car.
Obviously imported cars are different.
A friend of mine has a V6 Honda Accord built 06/2009 and complied 01/2010. First registered 29/04/2012. So it is still a 2009 Honda Accord when he goes to sell it! Mind you it still has the balance of the 3yr manufacturers warranty until 29/04/2015.
If you are really unhappy, go back to the dealer. I know what they will tell you.MY18 VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg Edition + Panoramic Sunroof + some extra goodies... (Pure White)
