Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Golf MK5 GTI Daily

G'day everyone. Picked up my new daily. Oct 2006 Built MK5 GTI 6Spd DSG. So much car for the money. I just think its great.

I was daily driving a Subaru Liberty for the last 3 years (My wife's car) and I hated it.

I've always liked the Golf and especially that DSG technology when a friend posted it for sale on FB and i just did it. I wasn't even looking. But i cant be happier with it.

I've got the Race car, an Evo8. A family car, Toyota Landcruiser. So now I've got a really hot hatch daily as well. Complete.

Im hoping to get some good info off other owners on the "what to do" and "what not to do". Im a ex mechanic so i still do all my own servicing and repairs. Its got 147.000 on it and I'm guessing it hasn't had the Timing Belt done yet. So an oil change and Timing Belt is my first job.

    Catch up with yas.
