Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi guys!

Just a quick introduction. 2 weeks ago I purchased a 2011 Golf GTI in Tornado Red. I am a big fan of the car and think that VW have done a great job of manufacturing a car that ticks all the boxes.

My ride prior to this was a 2012 FPV GS ute with the 5 litre supercharged V8. This car I owned from new, it had a few things done to it (Herrod Intercooler, Yella Terra snout, Walbro 400lph fuel pump, Bosch Motorsport 100lb injectors) and with a custom dyno tune performed by Spiro at Autotech Engineering the car put out 423rwkw and ran a 1/4 PB of 10.90 @134mph.

Which do I prefer out of the two? The Golf! 👍

    Golf's go hard around corners.

10.9 is hard to ignore though.

Lol it's nice to drive something that inspires confidence both in a straight line and around corners, and doesn't feel like it wants to kill me. The Golf ticks all the boxes and is brilliant in many areas that the FPV never was.
